Nothingburger, a term for a bunch of hype that ultimately leads to nothing, is probably one of the dumbest terms ever accepted into our modern political discourse. Though, considering what modern political discourse has become, maybe it's perfect. I don't know. I just think a bunch of well-educated journalists and pundits, whose only real job is to use words to bring weight to meaning, would come up with something better than a meme.
