Just a note that I don't really come down on either side. If you want to honor the man, do it. If you find honoring this man repulsive, say that. But I do agree that none of these men were saints. The troubling part is when we sanitize their legacies to make saints out of them. They're all human and when we worship them, we stop learning from them.
