Thank you all for indulging me this week with some heavy doses of presidential history.

You may raise an eyebrow at this one, and I’m not exonerating Nixon for Watergate, but his unhealthy addiction to paranoia was born out of thinking that everyone was constantly against him, which was true for years before the Watergate Hotel was ever built. When you have a man who he thought was one of his closest friends (The Kennedys even donated $1000 to Nixon’s senate campaign) suddenly turn into his worst political enemy and add to that to his general contempt for the rich elite which he learned from growing up poor, you get a situation where it’s not surprising that Nixon would spin out the way he did.
